Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 1, 2008 — Awards.com presented Lt. Colonel Jeffrey Chessani with a custom award in support of the Haditha Marines that were wrongfully accused by House Democrats led by Rep. Murtha.

Even before The Haditha Marines were cleared of all charges made by House Democrat John Murtha of killing innocent civilians in Iraq, there was an outpouring of support by the American public. Awards.com wanted to do something special.

Of course we admire and appreciate the service all of our men and women in uniform dedicate to the defense of our country. But since we can’t deliver awards to all of them, we wanted to show our support by doing what we could In support of the Haditha Marines, Awards.com created a custom award and presented it to Lt. Colonel Jeffrey Chessani on behalf of the Haditha Marines in recognition of the selfless service and dedication to the protection and defense of the United States.

Aaron Itzkowitz, CEO of Awards.com, said “Our Armed Services in general, and these Marines in particular, put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and provide security and defense of our way of life. To see them slandered by Democrats in Washington for political gain is unacceptable, both to me personally and those that work here. We wanted to show these Marines our support in a way that was tangible.”

The custom-made award, depicting an eagle and bearing the Marine emblem, is an etched glass award with the inscription “In appreciation for the selfless service and non-wavering commitment to protect and defend the United States of America”.

So far, 6 of the 7 Haditha Marines accused of killing innocent civilians in Iraq have either been cleared of all charges or had the charges dropped and Rep. Murtha is now being sued for slander by one of the Haditha Marines, as reported by Fox News.

Efforts to contact the other 6 Marines under Col. Chessani’s command in Haditha to present personalized awards to each Marine individually were unsuccessful.

“We would have liked to deliver the other awards to each Marine individually, but a different attorney was handling each Marine’s case, and we were unable to obtain contact information to deliver the remaining awards” Mr. Itzkowitz said.

“Of course, if they contact us, we will have their award sent right over!” he added.

Awards.com, started in 1999, manufactures awards and recognition products and
sells custom printed promotional items, logo apparel, and other personalized gift products to large and small companies. They can be found on the web at: Recognition Awards.

“Our specialty is creating custom awards quickly, and when we heard about the Haditha Marines being vindicated by the courts, we were inspired to rush our production team in creating and delivering this custom award immediately to honor these Marines who we owe a debt of gratitude to” Mr. Itzkowitz said.

“Of course we admire and appreciate the service all of our men and women in uniform dedicate to the defense of our country. But since we can’t deliver awards to all of them, we wanted to show our support by doing what we could” Mr. Itzkowitz added.
